Business
National Entrepreneurship Month
Proclaimed by the President each year in November since 2010, National Entrepreneurship Month is a great time to recognize and support the risk takers and dreamers who turn their passions into reality. With Global Entrepreneurship Week November 18-24, National Entrepreneurs' Day and Global Women's Entrepreneurship Day on November 19th, honoring entrepreneurs and innovators is an important way to recognize the contributions made worldwide by these courageous individuals. And don't forget Small Business Saturday on November 30th, a great time to support local entrepreneurs with holiday shopping.
Ways to Celebrate
- Find a mentor. If you are just beginning your entrepreneur journey or if you are well on your way, finding a mentor for guidance and support can give you the push you may need.
- Be a mentor. Providing your knowledge and experience to those others who can benefit is rewarding and often times, educational for you as well.
- Support fellow entrepreneurs. Shop local at your favorite small businesses and share the experience. Word of mouth advertising is powerful in your community.
- Become an entrepreneur. If you've been thinking about this for awhile, take the plunge! With resources abundantly available, you can feel empowered when starting a new business.

Health & Lifestyle
November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness of this disease that impacts nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. This number is expected to grow even more since it is estimated that 79 million people have pre-diabetes and are at risk for type 2 diabetes. For those living with diabetes, managing the disease is very important. The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is promoting diabetes management through the Take Diabetes to Heart, a program designed to help diabetics understand they are at greater risk for heart disease and stroke. In addition, the American Diabetes Association is promoting awareness for diabetes management, prevention and improvement of lives of those affected by the disease. Their program called Count Me In was created to help inspire people to take action in the fight against diabetes. Learn More

Some of the keys to adjusting your favorite recipes and meal plans include adding more fruits and vegetables, choosing lean meats and plant-based sources of protein, as well as using less added sugar and less processed foods.
