The state of the small business economy in the United States in 2024 reflects a combination of resilience and ongoing challenges. Small businesses are crucial to the nation’s economic growth, employment, and innovation, but they are navigating a complex environment. Our mission at Affiliated Workers Association is to provide tools and resources that can help our members achieve success in this competitive and ever-changing landscape.
We want to start off by expressing our appreciation to our members who participated in a recent survey this past fall. Drive Research, an independent third-party research firm helped to gather insights from you that will help us to improve how AWA can best serve you in 2025 and beyond.
We heard from you that additional membership options with rich benefits at affordable pricing would still provide the most value to you and your families. With this in mind, we have partnered with ManhattanLife Insurance Company to create a suite of membership levels that provide fixed indemnity benefits for hospital and accident coverage. These memberships also include valuable discounts and savings for your small business and day-to-day expenses.
We found out that many of our members are considering starting a small business in the future. Small business advocacy is going to play a key role in your success. Our partners Small Business Majority and SBE Council are fighting for policies and legislation to protect the interest of our members who are small business owners. AWA will continue to invest in these efforts to help as you start and grow your small business dreams.
AWA wants to continue to bring forward opportunities that can help you save time and money in your business and personal lives. We are pleased to announce a new affiliate partnership with TME Travel as you consider your future travel plans. TME Travel can help protect any travel investment with comprehensive travel insurance coverage if the unexpected happens. Find out more on the Members Corner on the AWA website.
We know that the quality of your experience with AWA hinges on the service and support tools that you access through the association. We’re committed to continuing to improve those customer touch points for you and have added an improved chat feature within your member portal so you can get answers and assistance more quickly. Understanding the benefits and resources you have can help receive the most value from your membership, so visit your member portal often for tools that can help.
With the recent insights that you provided to us in the fall, you can look forward to new offerings in 2025 from AWA around education and small business resources, as well as a commitment to providing answers and solutions when you need them. We’ll share these developments through the newsletter, Members Corner on the website and our social media network. Our goal is to provide you with the support you need to thrive as a small business owner in a complex and competitive environment in 2024 and beyond. Thank you for your continued membership in AWA, and we wish you all a Happy New Year in 2025.
Sincerely,
Neil Peterson
